Cambridgeshire Workplace Cycle Challenge 2014
Awarding body Cambridgeshire County Council
Description
Cambridgeshire County Council and the Cambridgeshire Travel for Work Partnership (TfW) would like to run a workplace cycle challenge in the Cambridgeshire Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF) area for a three week period in September 2014.This is part of Cambridgeshire’s ambitious and exciting LSTF package which, along with other programmes, will see the implementation of a wide programme of cycling infrastructure and promotions. The LSTF focuses on two key economic corridors – along the A14 between Cambridge and Alconbury (including Huntingdon and St Ives), and along the A10 between Cambridge and Ely, as well as the city of Cambridge itself (see Figure 1) The Cycle Challenge scheme is expected to cover this geographical area.
The scheme is intended to:
• Increase the uptake of cycling in Cambridge and along the LSTF corridors;
• Encourage people who already cycle to work to do so more often;
• Encourage more new people to cycle to work; and
• Provide measurable results
• Provide a legacy of data and contacts that can be used by TfW and Cambridgeshire County Council after the event
